“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this Top Paper Award. This recognition is the result of my hard work and the support, love, and guidance from a number of incredible people. The flexibility to progress from one level to another and the opportunity to top up my qualification to a degree makes ABE a great choice for long-term career growth.”

After completing ABE Levels 4, 5, and 6 in Business Management, she is now blending her business expertise with her creative passion, pursuing a BTEC HND in Fashion and Textile Design. Her story is inspiring and a testament to how ABE empowers students to transform their ambitions into reality. Read her full story below:

''Hello, my name is Sharon, and I’m from Sri Lanka. I come from a close-knit and supportive family. My father was a great and remarkable man who inspired me greatly, and he taught me valuable life lessons and I’m fortunate to live with my mother, who is an inspiring, strong and wonderful woman. I also have a brother and a sister, and we share a strong and supportive bond.

In terms of my educational background, I have completed Levels 4, 5, and 6 in ABE Business Management, which provided me with a strong knowledge of business principles and strategic thinking. Currently, I am pursuing a BTEC HND in Fashion and Textile Design, which allows me to blend my creative passion with the skills I’ve gained in business. I am eager to blend my business management knowledge with my creative skills in fashion and design, and I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned in a practical, professional setting.

I chose to study the ABE Business Management because I’ve always been passionate about understanding how businesses operate and how effective management can drive success. The ABE programme offered a structured and internationally recognised curriculum that allowed me to gain a deep understanding of key business concepts, from strategy to leadership, while providing the flexibility to learn at my own pace.

I studied my ABE qualification in Sri Lanka at AEMC (Pvt) Ltd.

In Sri Lanka, the ABE qualification is generally seen in a positive light, especially in business and management. The perception of ABE among the public and employers can vary, but overall, it is regarded as a reputable and practical qualification with certain key impressions, such as the international recognition.

As I look ahead, I am looking to apply for a UK visa to complete the remainder of my studies and further develop my expertise in this exciting field. I am eager to work with talented professionals, exchange ideas, and grow in an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

The best thing about studying with ABE is the combination of practical, real-world business skills with an internationally recognised curriculum. The programme is designed to equip students with both the knowledge and the hands-on experience needed to excel in the business world. It’s highly career-oriented, allowing me to apply what I’ve learned directly to real-life situations, which is incredibly valuable in today’s competitive job market. Additionally, the flexibility to progress from one level to another and the opportunity to top up my qualification to a degree makes ABE a great choice for long-term career growth.

Studying with ABE has helped me develop a strong set of skills that are essential for success in the business world. First, I’ve gained solid management and leadership skills, learning how to effectively manage teams, make strategic decisions, and solve complex business problems. The programme has also improved my communication and presentation skills, which are crucial in any business setting. Additionally, I’ve built strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, enabling me to assess business situations and make informed decisions. Finally, the hands-on nature of the courses has enhanced my time management and organisational skills, allowing me to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.

One of the key tips I’d share for successful study is to stay organised. Make a study plan, break down tasks into manageable chunks, and set clear goals for each session. Time management is crucial—avoid procrastination by setting specific study times and sticking to them. Also, actively engage with the material rather than just reading passively; ask questions, take notes, and relate what you’re learning to real-world examples. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if something is unclear—whether from your peers, teachers, or online resources. Lastly, remember to take care of yourself—balance study with relaxation, sleep, and exercise to keep your mind fresh and focused.

My long-term career plan is to build a successful career that combines both business management and creative design. I have completed Levels 4, 5, and 6 of the ABE Business Management programme, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in management, strategy, and leadership. I’m now looking forward to topping up my qualifications and completing my Business Management degree. Alongside this, I am pursuing a BTEC HND in Fashion and Textile Design, which allows me to combine my passion for creativity with business skills.

I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive the Top Paper Award. This recognition is the result of my hard work and the support, love, and guidance from a number of incredible people who have helped me along this journey. I would like to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who have made this achievement possible.

First and foremost, I would like to dedicate this award to my father, who is no longer with us. Who always believed in me. My dad has always been my superhero, a constant source of strength, wisdom, and inspiration. Though he’s no longer physically here, the lessons he taught me, his values, and his spirit will stay with me forever. This award is a tribute to him, as much as it is to me. I have to say this; I owe everything to my mother. After my dad’s passing, she took over everything managing not only our home but also carrying the emotional and financial burdens with grace and strength. Without her, I truly wouldn’t be where I am today. She is my superwoman, my biggest supporter, and the person who always believed in me. Mom, thank you for everything you’ve done. This achievement is as much yours as it is mine.

I also want to thank my elder sister and elder brother. You have both been a constant source of support, love, and guidance throughout my life. Your encouragement has shaped me into who I am today. Thank you for always being there for me, cheering me on, and lifting me up when I needed it most. I also want to thank you Proffy, for always being there, for always being a source of encouragement, for pushing me to do my best, and for reminding me of my potential. Your support means a lot.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to my lecturer and to ABE. Your guidance and unwavering support have been integral to my academic journey. My sincere thanks to the ABE for providing me with this incredible opportunity. The resources, mentorship, and exposure I’ve gained through the programme have been invaluable in helping me refine my skills and pursue my academic interests. I am deeply thankful for the academic environment you’ve cultivated, one that fosters growth, innovation, and success.

Lastly, I would like to thank myself. This journey has not been easy, but through perseverance, self-belief, and hard work, I have made it here today. I am proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m grateful for the strength I’ve discovered within myself. This recognition is also a reflection of my own determination and commitment.

Thank you!''
