''I am Indian and currently live in Kenya with my family. I live with my father, mother, and elder brother. My father is an entrepreneur and investor, my mother is the mistress of the house, and my elder brother is an engineer. I have studied in India and Kenya. I have completed my lower primary and part of upper primary in India and other schooling and college in Kenya. I have done IGCSE ‘O’ levels before starting the ABE course. Currently, I have completed ABE Level 6 and I am halfway through completing ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). I am the Marketing Budget Manager at V-CAST CONCRETE PIPE INDUSTRIES, which is based in India and whose main product is concrete pipes that are used in boreholes and gutter concrete pipes that are made for the government of India. V Cast is one of the best manufacturers in Gujarat, India. My father has an investment in the company.
After completion of my O levels, I wanted to do a management course, so I did research and found that ABE is a better option to start college with.
Kenyan students prefer the ABE course as it allows them to start experiencing the workplace while studying.
I have completed ABE Level 6 and have started the ACCA course. Due to the competition of ABE level 6, I got an exception in ACCA foundation when starting the ACCA course.
The best thing about studying with ABE is that it makes students think widely and bring new ideas. It provides knowledge and skills that are required to be an entrepreneur and helps in the workplace.
I have gained several skills, such as marketing and project management skills. I use these skills in my workplace, which makes my work easier, such as marketing skills to plan the marketing campaign, and budget for it, and communication skills to help me build relationships with clients.
Workplace and real-life knowledge help more when doing ABE assessments, as students will know what really happens in the firms.
In the long term, I want to be a successful entrepreneur like my father.''
