Nadun Mendis has worked for MAS Holdings, Sri Lanka for 15 years and progressed his role from a Storekeeper to Senior Executive in Marketing. Studying with ABE provided him the flexibility to study while working full-time. He decided to study with ABE as he wants to advance his career to Assistant Manager and eventually become a Marketing Director at MAS Holdings. Read his full story below:
''I am from Gampaha, Sri Lanka. I have been working at MAS Holdings (MAS Kreeda) for 15 years. I began my career as a Storekeeper in 2007 and was promoted to Junior Executive in Marketing in 2010 and became an Executive in Marketing in 2013 and was promoted again to Senior Executive in Marketing in 2017. Now I am looking to expand my career to the next level.
As I wanted to enhance my career opportunities and knowledge, I joined ABE, which was practical, and high quality. I had the flexibility of studying while working full-time.
My sincerest love and respect should go to IUHS Campus for their guidance and support for allowing me to choose a programme that aligns with my ambitions.
ABE is a highly valued qualification in Sri Lanka, particularly among working professionals who want to advance in their careers. ABE’s way of learning is designed in such a way that it applies to the real world. Currently, I am planning to go forward with my Masters.
The memories with my classmates of sharing knowledge, resources, and study materials, as well as assisting and pushing each other even at the last minute shall be treasured forever. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my friends and lecturers for being so supportive, motivating, and inspiring throughout my time at the college.
Studying ABE helped me to gain real-world practical knowledge such as interpersonal, business awareness, networking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
I already hold a Senior Executive role and I want to move into my next position as Assistant Manager this year. My current role has given me a lot of leadership and people management experience. My goal is to grow up with MAS Holdings and be a Marketing Director in due course.''
