Here is his full story:
''My name is Asumang Obese Michael born on 2nd February 1993. I am a Ghanaian and have lived in Ghana my whole life. I come from the eastern part of Ghana. I am the second born with five other siblings, four boys and two girls. I am a very funny person who normally finds a way to put smiles on people's faces even at odd times. I sometimes perform in open mic sessions at stand-up comedy clubs. I am very passionate and active in almost all sports activities. I love watching football.
SIC Life S & L was licensed by the Bank of Ghana under the Banking Act, 2004 (Act 673) on 27th July 2010 to operate the business of a Finance House. The Company received the license to operate as a Savings and Loan on 15th July 2015. It has Eight Branches nationwide and over 250 employees. The main core business of the company is Fixed Deposit Investment, savings, and giving of loans to both government workers and individuals. I currently work with the Koforidua Branch as a Relationship Officer which is the capital town of the eastern region of Ghana. I joined the company barely two years ago and I supervise over fifteen people at the Branch level.
So, I studied Business Management offered by ABE under the supervision of Pentecost University – Ghana, from where I graduated in September 2019. In the third year of study, I took the chance to embark on my National Training Service for Graduates in my country as an Assistant Account Officer, 09/2016 – 08/2017 Institute of Accountancy Training – Accra, Greater Accra Region to enable me to gather funds to be able to write and complete my remaining course in which I couldn’t complete due to financial difficulties. I then with just the level 4 diploma got a job as Accounts Officer, 09/2017 – 06/2018 at The Royal Family School – Accra, Greater Accra Region.
From there I moved as Customer Relationship Officer, 07/2018 – 03/2022 at Adehyeman Savings and Loans Limited – Koforidua, Eastern Region that been almost four years and I have been working at SIC Savings and Loans as a Relationship Officer from March 2022 till date.
I came across ABE when I went for admission at Pentecost University in 2013, which was recommended to me by ABE coordinator, Mr. Ebenezer. I initially wanted to study Banking and Finance but upon completing ABE has given me the same job opportunity as every other graduate. It has increased my passion for furthering my education in Business Administration which will boost my career goals and positions.
In addition, with respect to learning abroad, applying with ABE is more effective and has a higher rate of admission, especially in the United Kingdom. I have gained almost four admission offers from abroad with the intention of studying MBA programs. I am still not studying abroad because of financial circumstances but I strongly believe the right time will surely come.
What I enjoy the most about my job is the opportunity to meet different kinds of people at various levels in life. Able to lead a team and be directed by superiors, get new ideas about the financial sectors, and learn on the job in terms of management skills which prepare me for the future.
I do not know the situation in other countries but I will advise every individual who want to attain their first degree and move to study MBA anywhere worldwide in Ghana with less than three years to pursue ABE studies.''
