''I am from the beautiful island of Saint Lucia, born and raised in the vibrant community of Augier, Laborie. My educational journey began at Augier Combined School, continued at Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, and later at Vieux Fort Post Secondary School, where I studied Secretarial Studies. I currently work as an Administrative Secretary with the Government of Saint Lucia in the Office of the Director of Audit.
After the loss of my father in 2020 and my mother a year and a half later, my sister, Glenda, encouraged me to enrol in the ABE programme with the National Research and Development Foundation (NRDF). She believed it would help me honour our parents' dreams and push me to reach my full potential. Her support has been a guiding force, helping me navigate through a difficult time and stay focused on achieving personal and professional growth.
ABE is highly accredited in Saint Lucia, and one of the best things about studying with ABE is its affordability and flexibility. These qualities have made it an ideal choice for me as I pursue my studies. I am currently working towards completing the Level 6 Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) and plan to continue advancing in this field. My goal is to become the best HR Officer I can be, continually enhancing my skills and deepening my understanding of HRM. This education has not only broadened my knowledge but also equipped me with the tools to excel in my career.
I am truly honoured to receive the ABE Top Paper Award and deeply appreciate the recognition of my work. For newcomers to ABE, my tip for successful study is to embrace the challenge and understand that success requires sacrifice. Balancing work, family, and studies can be difficult, but with strong time management and a clear focus on your goals, it is possible to thrive. Prioritise your tasks, stay organised and be prepared to make adjustments to your routine when necessary. Remember, the sacrifices you make today will lead to greater achievements tomorrow, and the hard work will pay off in the end.''
