After successfully launching the ABE Business and Entrepreneurship Club in Malawi, Kereesa (ABE Africa Director) continued her Africa tour by visiting Nairobi and Mombasa in Kenya.
The ABE Club for high schools is designed in line with our strategic vision to take students from the schoolroom to the boardroom. Students will be exposed to mentorship, business and leadership training, and social impact initiatives. As part of the club, they would need to establish their governance structure and implement entrepreneurial activities to become self-sustainable.
Kereesa said, "The Head Mistress of one of the schools was moved to tears. After three sessions of the club at her school, her students created a phenomenal presentation about entrepreneurship and responding to the failures that come with it." ABE Level 5 students also came to welcome the students and shared inspirational stories of their own businesses.
We had over 700 students from 11 different schools who are participating. These include Aga Khan High School Nairobi, Arya Girls Parklands, Arya Samaj, Maina Wanjigi School, and Gikindu Girls High School, all located in Nairobi, as well as Aga Khan High School Mombasa, Sheik Khalifa School, Light International Academy, and Hamisi High School in Mombasa. Kereesa was blown away by the enthusiasm of the students. They also mentioned that they were honored to have been offered this opportunity.
